The new Bottega Veneta boutique offers stealth, personalized luxury items for a limited time in Aspen.
The pop-up will feature items from the men’s and women’s 2019 cruise collections including elevated casual outerwear perfect for the streets of Aspen.
Last spring’s runways were all about the logo: “Versace”-screen-printed T-shirts, “Balenciaga”-printed totes and “Gucci”-emblazoned sweaters, to name a few. It was as if the fashion world collectively decided to take our trumped-up culture and push it one step further. One house, however, played it cool. Bottega Veneta introduced the tagline “When your own initials are enough” in the ’70s and has leaned on the strength of its inconspicuous intrecciato woven leather designs instead of a traditional logo for decades. The Italian brand has opened a shop in downtown Aspen for one year focusing on men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and its eternally popular handbags—which, by the way, are recently available for monogramming. Starting this year, the brand, which eschews splashy monikers for individual style, will offer personalization of its leather goods. The boutique is available to help customize a piece by having it stitched, stamped or embossed with your initials. That’s one logo that never goes out of style. 535 E.
