Chanel launches Coco Neige, a collection inspired by winter sports.
If there was ever a Chanel collection ideal for the Aspenite it is Coco Neige, the recently launched line fusing technical fabrics with fashion silhouettes to create pieces both functional and statement making. Created with winter sports as the inspiration, Coco Neige features puffy jackets, cashmere sweaters, pants, snow suits, shearling booties and more, all reimagined through the Chanel lens. Tweed, leather, wool and Chanel’s signature quilting are paired with waterproof and windproof materials, resulting in a collection of pieces perfect for both the mountain and après toddies.
With skiing and snowboarding serving as the muse, no detail was left unconsidered: The pieces were created to be easy to move in, high collars and down insulation keep the wearer warm, and trousers flare just enough to accommodate ski boots. Staying true to Chanel’s ethos, the line is primarily black and white with blue and fuchsia accents adding pops of color to stand out against the snow. Highlights include a down jumpsuit rendered in camellia-motif quilting, a jacket constructed in water-repellent velvet, menswear-inspired black leather pants and coated-canvas trousers. The tomboy-chic line is rounded out by accessories, including boots, brooches, mittens, hats, a scarf and—of course—bags. Chanel’s fall/winter collection includes a pair of skis, which seem like the natural finishing touch. Select Chanel boutiques or by phone 800-550-0005
