This year’s Chukkers, Champagne and Caviar event was bigger than ever—in every way possible. The Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation’s annual summer polo fundraiser hosted by Melissa and Marc Ganzi took place in a grand tent on the sidelines of the Aspen Valley Polo Club. The Rocky Mountain Open was played in front of the sold-out VIP tent. Team La Karina won the day, cementing its title as the winningest team of the season. Nic Roldan, one of the country’s top-rated players, earned the title of Most Valuable Player. In between chukkers of polo, guests ate, drank and bid on the auction items presented to them throughout the afternoon. All told, the event raised over $525,000 for the Aspen Valley Hospital. Said Deborah Breen, AVH Foundation President & CEO, “The hospital depends on the generosity of our community in order to deliver exceptional healthcare.” The next day, it was announced that the AVH has formed a formal clinical partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. What a big opportunity to build on the vital services provided by the Aspen Valley Hospital.
