A members-only mountain club opens at the shiny, new Snowmass Base Village.
Snowmass is about to change, big time. The sprawling ski mountain has always been a decentralized haven for powder-lovers and families seeking ski-in/ski-out convenience. This season marks the opening of Snowmass Base Village, a project helmed by East West Partners in association with the Aspen Skiing Company and KSL Capital. The village is anchored by the new Limelight Hotel Snowmass set to open this winter and two stunningly modern condo buildings (One Snowmass and The Lumin), all circling a Harry Teague-designed community building and ice-skating rink. This handsome hive of activity will best be accessed with Snowmass’ other latest offering: a club membership. As with the Aspen Mountain Club, the name of the game is convenience.
Snowmass Mountain Clubbers can pull into the parking garage underneath the Limelight, where they have private access to a portion of the garage and elevator up to the members lounge, where every amenity, service and the gondola is just steps away (in your pre-warmed ski boots). On the mountain, members will have priority at the restaurant atop Sam’s Knob run. After a $4 million renovation, the slope-side perch, Sam’s on Snowmass, has maximized the view of Mount Daly. Watch out, Aspen—your little sister is all grown up. 65 Wood Road, snowmassmountainclub.com
