Design partners Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim of Monse have once again fashioned a collection manifesting the idea of ease, structure and femininity. The brand continues to push the boundaries of style and heavily influences the zeitgeist of fashion for the contemporary woman. With the industry moving toward optimism in collections, the powerhouse duo has infused their signature tailoring with vibrant colors, bold patterns, collegiate elements and displays of Americana. Recently at New York Fashion Week, Garcia and Kim added another level of eccentricity to their pep rally-inspired runway show by incorporating the elevated and timeless eyewear of Morgenthal Fredrics. Jeff Press, head designer of the 100-plus-year-old heritage brand, knows how to collaborate with masterminds. In the past, he has worked with Oscar de la Renta, Rosie Assoulin and Rag & Bone. The glasses are part of the capsule Monse X Morgenthal Frederics collection consisting of three aviator silhouettes constructed of sheet acetate and titanium steel with wash lenses. “The collection came together naturally,” says Press. “Laura and Fernando are so confident in their vision, we were able to achieve something sexy and sleek.”
